Indian Creek Campground is located on the eastern shore of Priest Lake State Park where Indian Creek empties into the lake. The area is popular with campers, boating, hiking, swimming and fishing.
Natural Features:
Visitors to Priest Lake State Park will enjoy the dense forests of cedar, fir and tamarack. Inhabitants of the park include whitetail deer, black bear, moose and bald eagles. Priest Lake which is fed by streams cascading from the high Selkirk peaks, the main body of Priest Lake extends north south for 19 miles. A two-mile thoroughfare connects the main lake to the remote Upper Priest Lake that is accessible only by foot, mountain bike, or boat.
Recreation:
Priest Lake State Park provides many recreational opportunities such as backpacking, hiking, biking, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and cross country skiing. The Indian Creek has three trail totaling about 2.8 miles within it’s boundaries. The Indian Creek Trail is a little less than a half a mile. The old Flume Tail Loop is about 1.4 miles and starts and finishes at the park visitor center. The View Point Rail is 1.4 miles round trip. The trailhead can be found by walking past entrance loops A and B on the old county road base about 100 yards. In the winter, Indian Creek Unit offers access to over 200 miles of marked, groomed snowmobile trails and a myriad of cross-country skiing opportunities.
Facilities:
Priest Lake State Park Indian Creek campground is forested with 93 single-family campsites and is located along the shoreline of beautiful Priest Lake. Reservations are required. There are 62 campsites with water & electric hookup and 5 camper cabins to rent.
A beach with a roped off swimming area is available and popular with campers. No dogs are allowed on this beach but there is an off leash dog beach to the west near Indian Creek. A boat launch is available to the east of the swimming area.
Indian Creek campground is open year-round, with limited facilities in the winter (water is off). Amenities include water, flush toilets, showers, a dump station and camp store (with gasoline). There is also a boat ramp, playground, picnic areas, volleyball and disc golf course.
Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Non-hook-up, partial hook-up (electric) and full hook-up (electric & sewer) sites are available and up to 32′ trailer spaces, Each site also has a table, grill and fire ring. Sites require reservation in advance.
